In #MathsToday have been discussing the benefits of Graphical Calculators in #ALevelMaths.

Having the same graphing technology in the exam that has been used in class is comforting, and probably helps check answers. But does it give students an unfair advantage?

Your thoughts?

Place a different Fibonacci number in each of the 3 by 3 cells so that the sum of each row and the sum of each column equal the given results.
Top row equals 398, middle row equals 657 and bottom row equals 521.
Left column equals 322, middle column equals 720 and right column equals 534.
The Fibonacci sequence begins 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13 ... and the Fibonacci rule is Fn = Fn-1 + Fn-2

In #MathsToday: discussing why approach to gravity differs between #ALevel Maths and Physics.

Physics uses 9.81 m/sΒ² for a calculated value (3sf), while Maths uses 9.8 m/sΒ² as an β€˜exact’ constant.

9.8 = 7Β² / 5 useful in old days when Pi = 22/7
