Good start to the summer reading. Quirky book from the cottage on pebbles. Loved there are rivers in the sky, sad to finish. Water so well written, now for the next one in the series. Seals and otters taking me away from my reading once more! #scotland

Always enjoyed going round the board in one lesson. Do not miss my 1st board, which was a chalk board on an easel. Students seemed to like taking out the pegs 🤔🤣

Totally agree with you on the calculators, we don’t mention the graphic one as we know most of our students could not afford one. Seems so unfair for exams.

Deacon Blue many times lost count. Off to Glasgow and Brighton to see them in October.

Cryptic crosswords for dummies, really enjoying the different levels of challenge.

Reviewing ladders and hinges today in #AlevelMaths #mechanics. Question mentioned a peg, lots of very confused students. Any good examples or images I could use to explain to them what one is. Could only think of an easel.

Fabulous resource, will certainly help them. Little and often makes it manageable for them.

I use the desks as whiteboards. Mine sit three to a desk so works really well, just need baby wipes to keep them clean. Great for #Alevelmaths.

We’ve printed out the questions from the practice books with solutions and for target students given them a schedule to follow for these. Lots of exam booklets on topics from exam wizard for stats with solutions. #alevelmaths

Ooh will have a look at this. Some of them look at me as if they have never seen a VD or the notation.

In #MathsToday looked a bouncing particles and distance travelled using a GS. #FurtherMechanics Good discussions about link to coefficient of restitution and height after a bounce.

It’s a right mixed bag. Exponential modelling (repeat of AS pure), calculating PMCC with calc (separate to learning about reg and correlation which is year 1) and hypothesis PMCC.

In #ALevelMaths #MathsToday we were reviewing mechanics mock. Made use of the desks as large whiteboard with a focus on particles on a plane and building up complexity.

Certainly some of the stats content. Agree LDS, Chapter 1 yr2 could lose most of it, keep PMCC but put in AS.

I wouldn’t penalise. Unless it was a show that question.

I got given Cryptic crossword puzzles for dummies for my birthday. Puzzles increase in difficulty with different hint words added each puzzle. Loving it
