If you were to allow more than 4 hp marked based on some damage-to-threshold ratio (beyond the optional massive), something like the Blade domain's Battle Monster—with which a PC can force an adversary to mark any number of HP up to the amount the PC has marked—becomes cheapened. 2/3

Like I said, I think you are getting away from the system design. Anything 4+ is designed such that they shouldn't die in a single standard attack or general damage roll. The fiction rule and certain features account for what is outside that scope (more in additional replies). 1/3

But an average with 5+ hp implies its own strength is high enough to withstand even legendary heroes, at least for one domain ability or standard attack.

I think that gets away from the system design. Having guardrails to prevent one-shotting enemies that shouldn't be.

I mean, the system explicitly states to follow the fiction, so if someone casts an earthquake on El Capitan to sheer off a billion tons of granite on a 6' dude... by all means.

It'd be great if *she* was the focus of a second season. I'd love to see Chloe Bennet carry a series. Not that she didn't in Agents of SHIELD, but that was an ensemble with multiple leads carrying different parts. I'd love a full season where she plays the primary lead.

I think my main problem is that Lana doesn't really get closure for herself. She gets closure about Jon, but only Willis gets closure for everything. It kind of makes her feel like a prop. Ironic given the premise of the series.

Maybe that could be addressed in a second season.

I finished the last few episodes yesterday. I liked #InteriorChinatown overall, but the meta narrative felt much stronger earlier in the series than in the finale.

I haven't read the book, so I didn't know how it compares. I might add it to my reading list, however.

But at least you can just queue anew and all that's wasted is a little time and nothing like a key or lockout or loot or whatever like in some other MMOs.

Which is fine. DDs are meant to be harder content at the higher floors. But everything is exacerbated by people who assume everyone has completed a set of floors already or should know the lethality of every single ability. Some like to do things blind and learn, ya know? #ffxiv
