Coinbase has been successfully "buying" political influence at quite a rate recently and cryptocurrency adoption is set to grow significantly.

I should have said this is an old article getting new attention, there's a lot of new stuff going on with Coinbase, politicians, and big moves being made to push cryptocurrency and because of these things it needs a fresh look as a threat vector imo.

I can't help feeling that China is at least in part distancing from cryptocurrency as a strategic move, seeing it as a significant future opportunity for attack, one that they're now making themselves immune to the effects of.

I find this very interesting from a national security perspective and potential future threat to the US financial system.

Consider that many US politicians have been "bought" by Coinbase, and consider the trajectory of cryptocurrency adoption in the US, and future potential for China to attack it.

But at least we're trying to decentralize things, which is pretty much the only solution to all of this concentration of power, and the abuse that comes with it.

I'm an optimist too but don't have the same level of confidence about it, because "leverage".

Less people are controlling more because they increasingly have more "leverage" over larger numbers of people, through control of the Internet, through socials and other tech monopolies too.
