I had to get ashes in an airport once while traveling with my h.s. debate team. The deacon (I assumed) who smeared them on me was obviously new to the process, and I came out of the chapel looking like a chimney sweep! 😂

I grew up in deeply Catholic South Louisiana, and I have NEVER seen such perfect ashes in my life. His priest must have a face painting gig on the side.
