Honestly, I could absolutely see these as the remains of agglutinated forams, even just visually. It'd be fascinating to see traces of some that are that old.

Those mushrooms look to be Flammulina, they're lovely, tend to require genetic testing to tell which species they are specifically.

Had a nice opportunity to photograph some of the nighttime fauna in my garden. Lovely surprise appeareance by one of the Megalepthyphantes, which will either be M. nebulosa or the other still undescribed species that has been showing up in UK records these past few years. #iNaturalist

Every time I go out, I think "I won't take my camera, I doubt I'll run into anything interesting" and then proceed to spend the entire time kicking myself after I run into something interesting and am forced to photograph it on my phone instead.

Sunburst diagram depicting the a range of organism taxa.

I'm a massive fan of data - and one of my favourite things is this nifty interactive sunburst diagram #iNaturalist generates for you at the end of the year showing the taxa you found. Visible at the top there in brown are the Chromista, of which most of my records are the #Foraminifera.

Coming to the end of my experiments for my Dissertation, and I can't wait to not have to spend my time in the lab sealing amphipods away in these handmade "teabags". On the bright side, spending my evenings sewing actually turned out surprisingly enjoyable.

One of the coolest opportunities I've ever been given was working through deep sea sediment at UCL as part of a NERC DTP Research Experience Placement - I've still got hundreds of photos of forams to be identified, but seeing deep sea species like these is something I won't forget any time soon.

Some of the first foraminifera I came across - at the time, I didn't expect them to become one of my favourite taxa. Right back at the start as I was learning to photograph microfauna, and clearly before I learnt how lighting works.

Likely going to use this space to post some of my favourite organisms I end up photographing either when I'm just out and about, or in the rare instance I drag myself out to do some proper photography.
