My favorite book! If you read just one chapter a day( almost all of them are short) you’ll be done in six months but once you get into it you can easily read it in a week or so.

Those sound like fascinating classes especially those on Nagarjuna, Soren…and Blues to Rock, huge fan of old Blues and the rock groups they inspired like Canned Heat. Soren does not sound like he had a happy life.

Here’s Landeg White’s translation of the beginning and end of the opening, love that part about Portuguese Argonauts; I’ve read Mickle’s 1776 translation too, both excellent.

I love it, it’s my favorite epic; Melville called it ‘the man-of-war epic of the world.’ It was from a Melville book I first learned of it, he wrote a phenomenal poem on Camoes.
