The scams are viable because the DNC has outsourced true grassroots fundraising and organizing to text mills. I donated small amounts to a couple local elections and now I get dozens of texts a day from candidates all over the country. At end of quarter I get hundreds a day. Scammers can’t help it

I am grateful for the ACLU and all their partners. They punch well above their weight. But Leonard Leo has at least a $1 billion dollar budget to unmake this country. There has to be enough D money out there to ensure nobody is financially unable to fight the government’s oppresion.

Why is there not already a Democracy Defense Fund that automatically pays for anyone mistreated by ICE. Are there not enough rich people in America? Are there not enough big-time lawyers willing to stand up to this abuse? Why isn’t there a lawsuit every single time. Why is this not organized.

Congress can't change its pay. It's in the Constitution.
Putting everything on auto-pilot just allows Congress to avoid its responsibilities.

For life saving functions like air traffic control, and for mandated spending that is not subject to annual appropriation, like Social Security. Congress gets paid because of the Constitution- laws can’t affect their pay in the current session. Allowing Congress not to do its job is bad.
