Sommai can help you pair any food to the wine in your cellar. Today we grilled turbot and Sommai suggested a Pouilly-FuissΓ© from 2022, but we decided to go for its cousin from 2019. Still very helpful.

Last year, we got to taste Domaine Leflaive Montrachet Grand Cru 1994. Of course, to make the evening perfect, we asked Sommai (www.sommai.net) what food to pair with this wine. We decided on the lobster dish, and it was just amazing. The wine had aged beautifully, still with fresh citrus flavours.

I highly recommend developing a wine pairing app. Testing of Sommai has been a lot of fun. Today I found a rather cheap GewΓΌrstraminer from Chile in my basement. Sommai took the challenge and suggested 5-spice duck with caramelized orange sauce and ginger-rice. It was an absolute delight! Cheers.

Amazing consentration and finish with beautiful balance of acidity and tannins. Dark raspberries on the nose. Very old (original?) Pinot noir clone "pinot fin". Grand cru flavor with bourgund rouge price: Geantet-Pansiot.

Sommai, our wine pairing app came up with these suggestions for wine pairing from our cellar. We went with another BdB, but we still believe the pairing suggestions are very valuable.

Underrated pairing: Winter shrimp and Champagne. Shrimp from the North sea are in season right now. In combination with a resΓ©rve BdB from Turgy, they bring light to a dark winter evening.

We are celebrating this important day here in the Norwegian mountains. Your wine was great, thank you. We did a rather unconventional pairing with a prosciutto pizza, but it worked very well.

Norway lobster paired with a great Clos Reyssier from "Espirit Leflaive", an affordable but really not easy to find Pouilly-FuisΓ©. Beautiful minerality and citrus. On to boeuf bourguinon with two vintages of the iconic Vega-Sicilia Unico, 1990 and 2012. This was a good tuesday.

Next one, let's go! Nice classroom view today. Does anyone have any tips for WSET 2?

Enjoying a great barolo from Anselma. We were lucky enough to visit Maria last year. This 2013 Vignarionda still has potential for many years in the cellar. Beautiful flowery nose, cherries, leather. Long, balanced tannins.

I was lucky enough to enjoy this wine with tenderloin, cooked by a good friend, in a stunning setting. Even though the bordeaux never reached proper serving temperature, this is one of my best wine and food experiences from 2024.

We love #wine with history, especialy when the wine is good value. Ch. SΓ©nilhac is a nice Bordeaux from Haut-Medoc. It was recently Chinese owned, which leads us to the interesting part. Behind the label of the 2015 vintage (originally bottled for the Chinese market) is an antilope etched in gold.

The wine menu is so large, it needs a separate table to browse.

If you enjoy world class food and wine, and find yourself in Paris, make sure to visit La Tour d'Argent. Their wine cellar is a piece of French history containing more than 300 000 bottles. Their canard Γ  la presse is legendary. Thank you @andreterrail.bsky.social for great experiences last year.

Every autumn, I hunt for ptarmigan in the Norwegian mountains. This year we had Jean-Luc Jamet Terrasses CΓ΄te-RΓ΄tie with the birds. We had both 2018 and 2019. The 19 stood out as an excellent wine, matching all the gamey flavor of the meat. Black berries, earthy, and good acidity.

As 2024 had left us, I have been remembering the wine and food we have enjoyed the last year.

This 1er cru, Domaine Leflaive Clavoillon was just amazing accompagnied by a chantarelle risotto.

Happy new year! We are enjoying an excellent value for money champagne before dinner (Turgy). The lamb shanks have been cooking for a couple of hours and will be accompagnied by a Fontalloro which goes very well with tomato based sauce. Wish the best (wine and food) for all of you in 2025.

I totally agree, the red wines from LΓ²pez de Heredia are great. I am sure you would also love the Gran Reserva. A lot of fruit with even more depth. I was lucky enough to taste it this fall and it was amazing.
