In case you had not heard, you can catch me on Oct. 19, 21, 23, 26, 28, or 31 as I officially carve pumpkins at the Disneyland Resort. I will be at the Disneyland Hotel from noon to 3 and the Grand Californian from 5-8. Stop by and say hello!

By this point I just think of Herb Ryman’s tree the way I think of Shamu. It’s more of a concept than an actual whale.

Now this, this, is an historical marker. On a legitimately historical property.

Here is a Casey Jr. photo I have always liked. From the Oct.-Nov. 1965 The Disney World magazine, it illustrates a story about machinist Dewey Dempsey, the first employee to retire under the Walt Disney Productions and Associated Companies Pension Plan.

I’ll start: β€œAlthough small” (and a dedicated space within a structure), it has the ability to sit.

Discuss.

I was honored to do my part to support the annual San Diego Comic Con Robert Heinlein Blood Drive by donating two units today. And how appropriate to do so while cosplaying Dr. John Hammond from Jurassic Park.

There are laundry lines above the walls on the park side of the tracks. I always assumed it was to delineate the more raffish nature of the area adjacent to the tracks.

Enough!

This is like watching a toddler with cake smeared on his face and hands loudly proclaiming that a bad man came into the house and stole the cake.

Now this, this is an historical marker. An actual plaque (albeit a replacement) with actual history.

A pedantic reminder that #Disneyland first opened its doors to guests on July 18, 1955. Today marks the 70th anniversary of the day invited guests celebrated the dedication of the park for a live, televised event.
