Lol yeah. You can also use search to find it, the command is called "frame selected" and you can rebind it to whatever also.

25.09.2025 00:08 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Here's my WIP prop dagger I'm making + original reference art.
Printing early let me catch some issues - handle too small, bony ridges near the handle need to move forward & away. Etc.
Time to start moving away from copying the reference & make the design more my own

3d model of a fantasy dagger shown with reference art.
3d print of the dagger on the print bed.
Side-on view of the print with supports still attached.
Working on a spooky knife design as a Halloween prop. Decided to print my rough pass / blockout to do a size & scale check.
Only took 3.5 hours to print this. So cool to be able to print out my WIP and actually hold it so I can redesign the flaws

Love this art style
27.08.2025 13:19 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Really happy with how this 3dprint turned out! A start to putting little props into the garden.
Modeled this in Blender & then learned how to paint the material swaps in Prusaslicer.
I like that you can use some of the color swap waste to print another object just as fast (slow, lol)

Who's left your job/field for a different one and had success with that? Wondering what it was like / what's your story.
Just feeling pretty burned out today and need to believe a different path is possible.

Been waiting for this book for a week!
I want to learn this kind of detailing technique for 3Dmodeling/ 3dprinting. Going to have to get in some blender practice with it tonight - either drawing curves + skin mod, or maybe just sculpting.
Anybody have resources like this for other styles you like?
Finishing 3d model projects is really hard, y'all.
Yoshi sculpted, rigged, stalling out on fixing weight paints.
Spending too much time rigging and not modeling/sculpting, so let's start a new project!
Now I'm more interested in the new project. Rinse/repeat.
I'll finish this time, it's hard tho
I've mostly been focusing on rigging lately, but I liked the tutorial series on blender studio. Feels like it had more depth to it than the stuff you find on YouTube.

I'm thinking of starting a printer farm for my own projects. I'm wondering how 2-4 #prusa core ones would churn through projects of that size.
Me to my wife:
One day, I'll be able to just look at an Elden Ring character and just make my own, and pose it! And then make Radahn into a Sailor Moon remix or whatever weird thing I want!
Cue us deciding if it should be Radahn in Sailor gear, or Chibi-usa in Radahn gear riding Pegasus. Hmm....
Yoshi high-poly retopology + subdivision + shrinkwrap results overlaid on my high-poly sculpt.
Retopologized Yoshi model without modifiers on (except for mirror) showing the actual base geometry.
I forgot to post this earlier, but here's my retopo Yoshi model.
For 2 weeks I've been learning rigging. Now I've got this happy boi fully weight painted & bones set up. Yesterday I built the IK controls for the left leg.
Done soon & I'll be able to pose this guy!

Buddy this looks like a pretty good start, don't feel bad.
Looks like you have some clipping geometry there. Just use x-ray mode and find the vertices that are inside the mesh clipping and merge them with another nearby to rejoin things correctly in that area.
People ask the most basic stuff all the time, and it's fine. Even if you don't say anything, you can just come lurk until you want to participate. Lots of people of all skill levels, including people who just started 5 minutes ago and experts.

24.01.2025 00:10 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I'm getting pretty far along on this #yoshi sculpt!
Today I joined all the separate body pieces together & blended the seams. I'm really happy with how this is turning out.
Next up, first time doing retopology, then rigging, weight painting, and posing for 3d printing.

Looking pretty good so far! Keep it up!
I've got a bad habit of taking my projects to the 3/4 done mark and starting new ones so I know how it is. But it'll be really rewarding when you take this model to the finish line.
I suggest checking out some of the YouTube tutorials out there aimed at beginners too if you keep getting overwhelmed! I feel like when I started, trying to learn from text tutorials was pretty tough.
23.01.2025 00:15 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Who's made their own vanilla extract?
I'm using some vanilla beans to make pies, and using the leftover pods immersed in brandy to try making some.
How has yours turned out? #baking #cooking #desserts
Start with a beginner blender modeling tutorial on YouTube. Donut tutorial is rec a lot because it helps teach hotkeys & introduces a bunch of features.
Try to avoid tutorials that sound like they just tell you all the keys to press without explaining what they actually do. Those will stunt you
Lemon meringue pie
I just baked a lemon meringue pie, yum.
It's been a while, so I didn't get the meringue peaky enough. But the flavor of the filing is ๐จโ๐ณ๐

Looks like a good start / block-out to me!
21.12.2024 22:33 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0The fun part though is once you can design these yourself, you can bend them around any shape you want.
I'm thinking I want to design a Christmas tree bulb that takes a little light on the base. That way she can be with us every Christmas to come.
On this test print I accidentally inverted the colors on the displacement, so the photo shows up as a negative.
Been slicing the updated 3dprint model for over an hour. This plane has about 5 million tris lol.
Lithophane of a tortie cat, with backlighting to show the image
Lithophane of a tortie cat, without backlighting to show the raw 3d print surface.
So, my sweetheart tortie cat passed away this week. I'm working out some feelings through arts & crafts.
So, I used Blender to design this Lithophane from a grayscale photo of her. It's basically a 2mm thick 3d printed plane with a displacement. When you shine light thru, you see the photo.
I believe in you!
