it's quite staggering to see the carnage the hunt is allowed to cause - with roads blocked by riders and car followers. We met a lady out walking with her children who was horrified when we told her they were hunting stags, she said she would be contacting her MP.

and packed up at Zeal Farm at around 5.30pm - the huntsman, looking like he was going to explode with rage, shouted at us "at least we got one" - callously gloating about the stag they had shot at the beginning of the day. In an area so popular with tourists,

with the huntsman off his horse and supporters making a racket trying to scare the stags out. A fresh hound was even brought in, replacing possibly a tired or injured one.
The field started to drift off through sheer boredom and eventually the desperate hunt threw in the towel

We witnessed the hounds in pursuit of hinds, during close season, which slowed down the hunt when they had to retrieve the hounds again under the watchful eye of so many sabs. They spent many many hours trying desperately to flush stags out of the common,

and more than two hounds, they really do struggle to keep up with the clever stags. The hunt concentrated their efforts on Shircombe Brake, where a hunted stag from earlier had possibly escaped to, then West Anstey Common which they hunted for the remainder of the afternoon.

There is nothing in the Hunting Act's exemptions that allows for chasing an unwell or injured animal.
They then started their hunting day again, pursuing a number of stags who manage to outmaneuver them, showing that with sabs present and therefore without the illegal use of quad bikes

who was very thin and the hunt decided he needed to be killed. However, rather than a stalker going in to quietly shoot him, instead they chased this poor stag - shouting at him and terrifying him before eventually finally killing him close to Castle Bridge.
