We have this evening heard the shocking news that the Mendip Farmers Hunt chased an exhausted fox into a villager’s garden in (1/2)

18.01.25 Beaufort Hunt. Grittleton, Wiltshire

A day full of foxes fleeing and no attempts of trail laying. Later in the day, a hare was killed without chase so little time to prevent it. They finally packed up at 4pm

Jason and his sidekick Arthur were pretty enraged throughout the day, having tantrums and shouting at sabs out of frustration. No known fox kills today, oh diddums boys

As usual, multiple blocked setts were found within close vicinity of the hunt

Always a pleasure to work the other sabs 💚🦊

Jason headed off at pace with hounds so we got ahead and picked them up again at Luddith Farm

The hunt then sulked back to kennels, realising they were covered by sabs and absolutely no chance to successfully hunt.

A nice early finish when they headed back into kennels at around 14:45.

We were happy to then be joined by comrades East Yorkshire Coast Hunt Sabs, Calder Valley Hunt Sabs and Independent Sabs. Jason took hounds through Leys Wood, casting them and encouraging them to pick up on the scent. Thankfully sabs had the wood surrounded and managed to deter the hounds.
