One of my favourite youtube channels for this type of stuff is Geology hub who just posted their first analysis vid on the quake, they are great for info on volcanoes 🌋 youtu.be/VxbANnGmQj8

It's not "over, over" yet and it's important to stay safe and out of the water, but for the sixth-largest quake ever recorded (by magnitude) that just feels incredibly lucky. Great job to all the people sending out warnings to people.

Still catching up on the status all around the world but so far it seems like there were no deaths from the 8.8 Kamchatka earthquake and resultant tsunamis... injuries and damage near the epicentre but little from the resultant waves.

Such a relief after a tense evening...!

Not only is that a jaw-dropping number it's only a fraction of our power, let's turn it up
