Michael from Saint Paul. Husband, dog dad, brother, friend, etc. Skilled at making classic cocktails. I make sounds on various musical instruments. A deep knowledge of mostly useless information and dad jokes. Several cool people say I'm a good egg.

I've got rare '61 Beatles
I got a film of my dreams
But I'd lose them all
Burn em all
Go along without all of it
Give up the chances I see
If you'd take me up
Raise me up
Let me know the heart of it
Give me your sweet soul dream

I SO love this album. It still holds up.

Holy moly, how far does this thread go? Asking for a friend. 😁

Like Andrew said, it's amazing that this is all out there and easily found. No more, "Was I just in the moment (or somewhat 'enhanced')? No, it really was fucking great!"

In 1988, I was living on the West Side bluffs of Saint Paul. That year, the speakers of the main stage for Riverfest were pointed that way. I stood in my back yard and listened to Stevie Ray Vaughan. Sounded like I was right there. I've found that show online and, yep, it really was that good.

Back in the day. I tagged along with my older sisters to an Osmonds concert. Bo was the opening act.

I was 9 years old. Saw the girls going crazy and thought, "Hmmm...I should get in on this!" Fast forward, I've been a musician for for 46 years.

Fun (?) fact: I saw Bo Donaldson and the Heywoods live in concert. In some ways, I'm still recovering.

Yes, Chris Myers and Sanchez were set to call the game. You can look at 506sports.com to find out what games will be shown in your area and who the announcers are.

Thank you for your post about the birthday of an accomplished artist. I didn't mean to say anything negative about Mr. Brooks.

FWIW, it was my favorite part of the film. Avery was fascinating and I loved how he answered the questions while improvising at the piano. We heard from Avery Brooks, the person. Not the actor who played Sisqo. Shatner's befuddlement was the cherry on top. 😊

Again, in the interest of clarifying attribution--I NEVER said Mr. Brooks was "weird or worse". In my opinion (drawing upon observation and personal experience) I did not think Avery was "weird" in the interview segment. I surmised he had got his head up prior. I was not stereotyping.

Thank you (I think) for correctly assigning the quote. I was referring specifically to the interview Mr. Brooks did with William Shatner in (IIRC) The Captain's Chair. Watch it and let me know if you don't think that Avery is...very relaxed, shall we say.

And more than ten years after the Jack Paar incident, Norman Lear had to fight CBS over including just the sound of a toilet flushing in an episode of 'All In the Family'.

'Spanking the Monkey', directed by David O. Russell. Good film, creepy subject matter, and yes, the music of Morphine was well-suited.

Seems precise and concise to me. And while I already figured you weren't using AI, thank you for not using it and stating that.

I believe that out of those 39 affiliates, only 6 are in the Top 50 US markets. Not a big hit to ABC.

So, 10cc's three Top 40 hits were 'I'm Not In Love', 'The Things We Do For Love', and....'People In Love'?

Can't believe nobody said Elvis. SMH.

But seriously, he's good in every movie he's made. Even if the movies weren't so good.

That was painful to watch. Not Miller--he was still tolerable back then. The worst part was Al Michaels trying to one-up Miller's wisecracks.

Oh yes. A friend of mine was over the top when the White Sox swept the Twins last week. I was dreading seeing his posts if the Bears won tonight.
