Cosmic Hymns for the Altered Unaltered Also Unknown As: Arcane Putrid Iniquity Your Subtle Spinner of Pagan Dub Koans The Perfect Music = The Best Resistance Make my home in Texas/Taiwan/SFBay
This is the story of the people at the Tower of Babel who tried unsuccessfully to get everyone to try to understand each other before scattering to the ends of the Earth. There was a brief interlude, you see, where people tried communicating with hand signals and a smattering of high school Spanish.
20.01.2026 05:28 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0It has always been the case that when any random person opens up the funny pages of their local paper, about 90% of the comics will seem inscrutably unfunny. They wonder what kind of people get enjoyment out of reading those comics or maybe that there's something wrong with their own sense of humor.

Finally accidentally actually heard that My Name Is Slim Shady song for first time in my life.
Right after Elton John's Rocketman and preceding Toto's Africa.
Switched to classic rock station and got Pearl Jam, Heart, and Def Leppard.
Improvement.

A take on why people had a dissatisfaction for Stranger Things finale:
The main group encountered the big danger at the same time and there was no need for an explanation. So none was given.
Maybe people miss the part where they finally group up and piece together the threat using a fun D&D analogy.

Normal human: I hate it that I always have to be skeptical about whether a video is AI-generated or not.
Pro-AI fan/bot: I can't tell the difference between real video and AI anymore, and I just don't care.

The scariest thing to me on The X-Files is when Mulder refers to Skinner as "the Skinman."
I keep thinking it's foreshadowing to some kind of hideous transformation by Skinner.
He's one of those rare relatable characters where you're like, please, writers, don't hurt this one.
Bright side: Our toxic maniacs have left Texas to intimidate Minneapolis and other fine cities so there is a refreshing asshole shortage here now.
Unintended effect: Texas will turn into liberal utopia while they are gone and will therefore require re-intimidation by assholes.
The cycle continues.

22. Tubeway Army - Down In The Park
This was the song that changed Gary Numan forever. Moving away from his earlier punk sound this was Numan's first synthesizer-led song. The shift was the end of Tubeway Army and the platform for Gary Numan to go solo.

Environments 7 (Country Stream) because, let's face it, "it may be next to impossible these days to find a real New England stream that sounds as serene as this superb stereo recording." Also for the looks on the faces in the other cars as you roll up to the red light blasting nature recordings.
