My guess would be, because of this trailer "controversy"... like I am pretty sure that right wing grifters read one article on Witcher and now pretend to not only be fans but also know lore better than authors (especially that game doesn't necessary follow the books lore to the dot)

I find it really fun, slower pace than the previous one, bosses are harder and vibe in at least few first stages (still in act I) feels more like a horror game XD
I also love that you can attack/use skills and move + you can roll like it's freaking Dark Souls XD
I would recomend trying it out :)

I'm slowly making my way through PoE2 EA and enjoy killing new faction in Helldivers2 :)
