Everyone here has had to decide what they will and won’t do. Will you take someone in your house? Will you bring them groceries? Will you patrol streets with a whistle? Will you do some other kind of work, of which there are many. And how many of these types.

What increases under Trump is that Americans are forced to prove who they are in every stricter even intrusive ways.
They're practicing on immigrants. They're putting a system of surveillance in place that will grow until you won't be able to do a thing in private.
This is Trump's end game.

Notice how the popular media narrative has moved on, while people on the ground in Minneapolis are still struggling and crying out that things are as bad as ever. This is how fascist regimes operate — overreach, recalibration, normalization. Get louder, not quieter.
