I don't know much but I think there's only two effective marketing tools:

1. Get people who love your product to recommend it.
2. A gun and legal impunity.

Children of Fear - Episode #4 23 September 1923.The gate’s echo was still in the investigators’ bones when Sian closed around them. Rain hissed on brick. Steam lifted from cookshops. Lanterns tilted in the wind like watchful eyes…

Episode 4 of our Children of Fear campaign log drops the investigators into rain-slick Sian, where a small, unsettling mystery tugs at them even as the larger journey presses on. All atmosphere and tension, and tough choices. blog.monkeyx.games/2026/02/09/c...

Arcana Rising - Fireballs and Day Jobs There’s a very specific brain-worm that afflicts some of us. The conviction that surely there must be a game out there that does β€œmodern wizards in our world” in a way that clicks with your group.

If you like the idea of Shadowrun but die a little inside at the crunch, you might be interested in Arcana Rising. OSR chassis, modern magic Earth, day jobs, demons in the suburbs. Plus some honest thoughts on why I’ll mostly be stealing bits from it. blog.monkeyx.games/2026/02/06/a...

I was introduced to D&D in Edinburgh (age 10) and then moved to LA (age 12) where that is all I played. It wasn't until uni (back in the UK) I encountered other systems (Vampire first, then Traveller and Cyberpunk).

Must admit half the games UK folks in 80s liked wasn't on my radar until recently.

Looking forward to this πŸ‘‡I'll be running Feng Shui for the first time - a fast, cinematic action RPG about Hong Kong–style gunfights and kung fu where heroes from across time battle for control of the world’s fate.

Wrote the scenario "Lanterns of the Turning Year" to mark the new year.

Once again it is time to be clear in how much I enjoy Seyed's reviews. I have found them extremely enlightening about our own material. The summaries of systems are really sharp.
I've said it before, but I really admire Seyed's ability to engage with creator intentions. Nice.

I'm finding it hard to imagine anything less than a 6 session run through for both games as I read. Feels it needs that for the consequences to mean something.

6 sessions is also a comfortable bi-weekly over 3 months format I am experimenting with for these kinds of games. Enough room to breathe.

Then the bigger challenge - find time and players to run it! But Cold City first maybe?
