Liam genuinely loves gardens. He & his mother used to garden when he was little, so they bring him joy & peace. He doesn't have one right now, just his little porch garden of tomatoes, but he has hope now.

[2/3] it's time to really start thinking about who we are going forward. For those reasons, we're rebranding here as HolfelderWatson and will be going forward as an Entity (two nerds in a trench coat).

We've chosen to keep our names so that if we choose to write something separate someday...

Nix & Tristan's meeting is (terrifying) full of new potential. It's a moment of defining a new partnership as they realize that they have a powerful and rare form of partner-magic. They can manifest power and spell case without components or prep when working together.

I don't think I answered this one. It reminds me of Tristan. He's an emotional and creative person, but he tends to get trapped in those emotions & in his mind. Part of his arc through #Cursed is to learn that sometimes, you're the one who has to be the hero, because you're there!

[2/2] I'm worried that two authors on the cover of a fiction book might be off-putting, for stylistic reasons. Two people rarely write in the same style and that can be jarring. Our partnership is seamless, magically.

okay, that's good to know that booktube is a thing. I know booktok could get toxic. I'll have to investigate shorts. I tried making an intro video, and i'm stuck on editing it into something cohesive. 😜 I *can* do it, but it's a *process*

Friends make the world go 'round, and I never want friends to be seen as "less than" in my stories. My friends often turn into either a romance or a qpr, but it's never seen as "more"...just different kinds of activities for different folks.

yes yes yes!! I'm a qpr "romance" style writer. I start with a meet-cute (or a meet-ugly, there's the one with the werewolf) and then flow to bffs to "something else" (but not "something more" because fuck the idea that romance > platonic relationshps)

[3/3] Now that I'm redoing Unbreakable ( #Cursed ), while Tristan is still white, Nix, the POV character and second MC, is black, as is his aunt and aunt's wife. It's important to me to have diversity of race in addition to queer identities. Next step: body positive rep!

[2/3] Still, Liam, the MC is a white (trans) man. Wardens of the Veil started out w/ a whitewashed cast as well, and I took the time to sit with the characters and ask them who they really were. Emmi is a black woman, and Mya is a black genderfluid individual. Both are MCs.

Going from the Unbreakable series forward, I wanted to incorporate characters of color into my cast. Unbreakable was done (so I thought), so I focused on #Shield&Scalpel. Sanal is the South Asian deuteragonist of the story, and their brother Rajan is Liam's bff. [1/3]
