I recommend this film! The trailer plays out like the wacky adventures of a man who lives in a Toys R Us - can you imagine just playing with toys all day?!? But...it's about much more. Shout-out to my friend Loren Smith. I saw his concert a few nights back, The Love Show. Third time watching it and he was as versatile and impressive a singer as ever, with a great band and supporting trio of voices. His authenticity is an inspiration. If you see it going up near you, grab a seat!

This house in the third pic so doesn't GAF that there's just a Stormtrooper in the middle of the lawn 'cause why not? Again, people live here.

Checked two legends off the list last night - The B-52s & Devo. I wasn't prepared for Devo's second set to be so punk-adjacent. Then Booji Boy came out and all hell broke loose. A record eighth time to the Bowl this year for me and they still have awesome events coming up on the calendar.

Well, Trump has proven himself to be twice as bad (& dangerous) a President as he was in June. It's no surprise the #NoKings rally in Burbank yesterday was twice the size. Fight the Power & Mookie, always do the right thing.
Plus, I'll go to any event where one of these T-Rexes is flopping about!

Sunday's CicLAVia was in downtown L.A. They shut the streets down for bicycles and there's no sight quite like a big urban setting with no cars. It was a blast! Next one - Nov. 23rd in Hollywood (Melrose Ave.).
As ever, the hubs are great, filled with community activists, freebies, and food.
I've got a mate (you heard me) in Australia who I don't see often enough, but yesterday was one of those days where I did! And he has a lovely wife. So we went and watched THE SMASHING MACHINE.
Oh, if you knew him, that would make total sense.
It had been a minute since I visited the great El Capitan theatre in Hollywood. Man, it's an EVENT! Awesome picture and sound (and in 3D, no less, which can look wonky OFTEN) with Nine Inch Nails laser light show that honestly might've been the highlight of the night.

Annual pilgrimage to Knott's Scary Farm is in the books! Nothing matches the QUANTITY. Do the math against HHN: 10 mazes, 4 shows & 5 scare zones vs. 9 mazes, 1 show & 4 scare zones. HHN has IPs but what does it matter if you can't see everything 'cause of huge lines due to a lack of things to do?

I've had to park the ol' ECTO-1 off site, there's no room at the new place. When I went to check in on it recently, it was really giving off stored-in-a-garage AFTERLIFE vibes. But as you can see, it cleans up real nice. Gotta get it ready for the busy season!

For an unfortunately-named baker, Erick Schat has put together one of my favorite places in CA! Erick Schat's Bakkery is awesome and if I worked there, I'd gain a 100 lbs. Tasty AF & a required stop along The 395. Lunch, dessert, and more!

Today I volunteered at a local school in a program that teaches students how to balance budgets. They're given a sum of money, then they have to divide the spending up WISELY amongst life expenses - food, auto, housing, I was entertainment. Again, I TAUGHT KIDS HOW TO BE FRUGAL. ME. Hilarious.

I'm very proud of Susan who opened in GO PLAY! last weekend at The Odyssey Theatre. She created an indelible character, played with real vulnerability, sharp acting skills, and humor. You can be like the other good people in this pic and see it weekends through Nov. 2nd.

I saw THE LOST BUS at the legendary Chinese Theatre. An overwhelming experience, but I'd expect nothing less from one my favorite directors, Paul Greengrass (UNITED 93, CAPTAIN PHILLIPS). Tense and effective story of ordinary heroism. Plus, Q&A with national treasure Jamie Lee Curtis.
