Today, we’re expanding our NotWhatYouSignedUpFor.org campaign — which connects service members to resources for responding to unlawful and immoral orders — to two major active duty military installations: Fort Bragg and Camp Lejeune.

Trump’s War on Crime Is a War on Democracy Democrats should fight back against the president’s militarization of law enforcement before it’s too late.

Trump is turning a “show of force” into policy - blurring the lines between the military and law enforcement.

Democrats should push back before it’s too late, @mattduss.bsky.social and @harrisonmann.bsky.social write in @foreignpolicy.com

Here’s how stupid former Secretary of State Antony Blinken thinks you are: Watch him tell Amanpour that the war could have ended if pro-Palestinian protestors had just called for Hamas to disarm and release the hostages.

Check on your hometown. I recently spoke with a group of Georgia elected officials who were surprised to learn their state had loaned $25 million to Israel, including $10 million Governor Kemp committed after Israel began carpet bombing Gaza post-October 7.

Gillibrand apologizes to Mamdani over ‘jihad’ comments The New York senator was criticized for not defending the NYC mayoral candidate in a combative radio interview.

Gillibrand apologizes to Mamdani over ‘jihad’ comments - POLITICO

So I am glad Gillibrand apologized but she should really do so publicly, not privately, given her smear against him was done publicly, on live radio in fact.

Win Without War Executive Director Sara Haghdoosti made the following statement in response the slew of Islamophic and misleading attacks on New York mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani by members of Congress from both parties:

“We condemn in the strongest terms the racist, islamophobic, and fearmongering smears against New York mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani by both Republican and Democratic members of Congress, including Representatives Andy Ogles, Randy Fine, and Eric Swalwell, and Senator Kirsten Gillibrand. At a time when Congress should be focusing its energy on blocking President Trump’s disastrous reconciliation bill, which threatens healthcare, education, and food assistance across the country, these members are instead trying to inflame hatred and stoke their constituents’ fear.

“While purporting concern for their constituents’ safety, these members are employing language that endangers their own Muslim and Arab constituents, who are increasingly subject to hate crimes and violence. While claiming to fight antisemitism, their politicization of the issue makes it harder to protect Jewish communities from actual antisemitism. It’s absurd, puts lives at risk, and needs to stop.

”The attacks on Mamdani are a moral and strategic failure. We call upon all members of Congress to condemn these smears, stand against hate in all its forms, and get to work protecting us from the Trump bill that actually threatens our way of life.”

Our ED, @shaghdoosti.bsky.social, on why members of Congress should stop their dangerous bigotry against Zohran Mamdani and focus on protecting their constituents from real threats -- like the bill they're currently considering that would strip health insurance from millions and supercharge ICE.

Trump using his leverage to choose Israel’s ruler (like Biden did in Lebanon last year).

The tacit threat here is that Trump could reduce military support if Israel’s judiciary prosecutes Netanyahu. I wonder if this statement was one of Netanyahu’s conditions for a ceasefire with Iran.

Sara Haghdoosti: Let me put this as clearly as I can, Donald Trump's reckless and illegal strikes over the weekend has made us less safe. The last few days have been terrifying but they've also been helpful. Why? Because the anti-war majority did show up.

Win Without War Executive Director Sara Haghdoosti made the following statement in response to reports that the Iranian military has launched missile attacks against a U.S. military base in Qatar:

“We are thankful that we have not seen reports of anyone killed or injured in today’s retaliatory strikes by the Iranian government. We call on President Trump and Congress to end the cycle of escalation with the Iranian government before more potential tragedies take place. Trump has put U.S. personnel in Qatar and around the region at risk, but he still has the chance to keep them safe by pursuing good-faith diplomacy and refusing to be drawn further into this conflict.

“Congress must also immediately convene to pass war powers resolutions that block Trump from further escalation and demand diplomacy.

“Trump’s escalation has endangered people in Iran, Israel, and now Qatar, and threatens to plunge the region into further chaos and violence.

“We have seen what happens when presidents drag us into wars based on flat out lies – hundreds of thousands are killed. People across races, backgrounds and places want the same things: to put food on the table, get healthcare when they need it, ensure their kids grow up safe. The MAGA regime is endangering Americans at home by stealing our healthcare and abducting our neighbors and people of many places abroad by launching unprovoked war.

“We call upon Congress to interrupt the cycle of escalation, exercise its constitutional authority to pull the U.S. out of this war, and use every tool at its disposal to rein in both Trump and Netanyahu before they plunge us deeper into massive, uncontrolled violence.”

What Happens if U.S. Drones Strike Mexico? Trump is considering unilateral military action against drug cartels.

Bombing Mexico is still on Trump's agenda, and it's still a horrible idea. My first in @foreignpolicy.com: I ran a wargame to find out what would happen if Trump ordered strikes on Mexican cartels.

In short: Strikes were deeply destabilizing for Mexico while doing little to temper the demand at the heart of the US overdose crisis.
