Most of us who are covid conscious understand that widespread masking is not returning.
But masking in healthcare facilities should be an easy ask.
Getting folks to mask when theyβre sick should be an easy ask.
Cleaning the air should be an easy ask.
Itβs time we adapt!

This government isnβt interested in keeping you safe and healthy, whether the threat is airborne illness, pollution, or wildfire smoke.
It would be wise to start listening to and supporting the disability justice and COVID aware communities, whoβve become skillful re: clean air and mask mutual aid:

Photo is of a blue jay (white, blue and black bird) flying towards the lens; getting ready to land and eat some black oil sunflower seed. The background is a colorful, blooming, springtime green scene of a backyard in the Midwest.
Backyard camera capture from yesterday. This blue jay was headed to check out recently delivered snacks. I would like to be reincarnated as a corvid. π¦ββ¬

Sometimes, I feel like everything is garbage & I get overwhelmed but then I imagine how I'd feel if I was a raccoon and suddenly, being surrounded by garbage isn't so bad. In fact, by raccoon standards, being surrounded by garbage is actually great. Life is about perspective.

Picture of foster black cat, Dennis. She is on her back near their βTurbo Scratcherβ cat toy (a plastic track with a ball that has a cardboard scratching insert in the middle), in a silly pose and showing off the small amount of white fur on her belly.
Foster cat Dennis exemplifies an energy I wish to channel the rest of this week. π±

I sure do wish everyone would stop arguing how productive autistic people are and thats why they have value because Jesus fucking Christ autistic people are valuable BECAUSE THEY ARE PEOPLE. Wild that we have to explain that still. Wild that people have almost zero basis for understanding disability

The US is trying to ban masks, mRNA vaccines, dismantle healthcare and social supports and arranging to keep lists of people with autism (and possibly other disabilities).
This is not how you tackle the chronic illness epidemic. This is how you begin a nationwide eugenics program.

Photograph is of me holding my recently finished book called βLaziness Does Not Existβ, by Devin Price, Ph.D. The cover is a colorful assortment of yellow to orange to red. There is backlighting from Monday afternoon sunshine, plus a white and orange cat - Kimbia - watching the world go by, safe inside his catio. Green grass of springtime is also peeking in the background!
Finished this book after my biologic injection yesterday (perfect before todayβs body implosion and crash); timely choice in the current phase of health and life. White cat joined me outside in the catio for some bird watching and gentle afternoon sunshine.

βSelf-employedβ autistic woman actually works for cat
An autistic woman who thought becoming self-employed would mean being her own boss has discovered that she actually now works for a small feline tyrant, it has been confirmed.Β Beth Hapworth, 32, who ...
Beth Hapworth, 32, who made the move from from being a full-time corporate copywriter to freelancing in order to regain her autonomy, has instead become a round-the-clock servant to seven-year-old tabby cat, Tilly.

A medium sized, round crabapple tree with freshly bloomed pink flowers, backlit by morning sunlight.
All black-colored foster cats Dennis and Mac observing the camera on a wood floor. Dennis is lying on her side, tummy exposed, and Mac is sitting curiously; the photographers sandals and bare feet are peeking in at the bottom of the photo.
Things that are currently reliable. Our pleasantly aromatic, bloomed (slightly early this year per my diligent record-keeping) for the season this past week, crabapple tree; me, perpetually confusing the foster and resident feline voids for inanimate objects (pillows, clothing, blankets, etc.). π³πΈπ€π±
