Last thing I remember is that I called Hypnos and hoped that he would answer and not Thanatos because I was so lost in this I-don't-remember-how-to-fall-asleep thing that I imagine I could very well fall into the wrong darkness.

Last night I woke up for no reason. I was so tired and kinda hallucinating, so I was just there thinking that I wanted to sleep but I didn't know how.

My brain might be broken. I'm still so tired.

Three days of vacation and I forgot how to plan a story, write anything, and even think.

Maybe that last one is caused by the heat, I can't tell.

My protagonist is quite formal and has a poetic flair, so "departed" could fit him, but in this scene he's freaking out and suspecting that either a miracle happened or he has gone insane, so he's using simpler words to avoid his mind bluescreening on him, haha

That doesn't fit this character's voice I'm afraid, but thank you for the suggestion, you gave me an idea.

In Spanish it would be "El hombre a mi derecha se fue". No right-left clash, no ambiguiety, just a simple straight up normal sentence.

I'm currently translating my new novel from Spanish to English to reach more readers. These types of situations force me to go back and change the original.

English has a great flow and the different structures it allows can give you such beautiful sentences, but it can also be so messy.

I was just forced to write "The man to my right left". Good job, English language, you're an absolute mess. Spanish would never treat me this way.

Finished reading the third Twelve Kingdoms book by Fuyumi Ono.

This is the best one yet. The two interwoven stories about the same characters but at different points in their lives was an incredible idea and it was masterfully done.

Now on to the fourth!
