headline title from the new york times for a discussion about the negotiations different universities are entering into with the trump administration and the title frames the discussion with this facepalming question:
Is There a Smart Way to Cede Power to Donald Trump?
Three Opinion writers debate whether universities should make a deal with the administration.

didnβt initially realize this isnβt the tv show! itβs just a straight reread of her books as a cash grab. itβs basically a tribute album to raise money for charity; the charity is βfor the good of society, transgenderism must be eradicated from public life entirely.β

There are two others (from the same album) in lists, one of which I will also be posting in a few days.

It's a rare moment when literally everyone on Bluesky can come together in agreement on something. That we are all, in one voice, equally appalled at Jim Acosta is giving me hope that a better world is possible.

ISTR, exactly 20 years ago this week, it was the same with Ashley Giles.
If anything there's even more of an us against the world mentality with Stokes and McCullum.

This week in 2024:
- 'Good Luck Babe' spent its first week of six at No.2 in the UK chart.
- For 5 of those 6 weeks - including ths one - it would be stuck behind a Sabrina Carpenter song.

I can't argue for this one when the leading wicket-taker is likely to average well over 30 and it's the highest-scoring 5-Test series ever.

Oh I don't disagree. Many's the time I've been exasperated by facile comaprisons with 2005, thinking "no, look at context and who was on the field".
I would still be picking 2023 over it to be honest, because without rain it would *probably* be the only series since 1937 in which 0-2 became 3-2.
