Evidentiary Pragmatism in Transgender Health Care | AJPH | Vol. 116 Issue 3 American Journal of Public Health (AJPH) from the American Public Health Association (APHA)

It took a hot minute, but I can finally share my new paper on evidentiary pragmatism in transgender health care!

In it, I propose a new principle for evaluating scientific evidence based on the best reasonably achievable evidence, avoiding the ‘catch-22’ where trans care can never be justified.

In the last week I found around 8 articles in Irish media with non-trivial mentions of #trans topics.

Given that multiple people came up to shake my hand afterwards, I think it's safe to say it was well received.

Various USians have adapted Come Out Ye Black and Tans for their situation in the past few weeks.

This morning I combined several of those together, added a few tweaks myself, and then tonight performed it on ukulele to bring it back here to Ireland. (1/2)

The last occasion I had to fill time, I started playing songs I kinda knew but hadn't practised before. Mostly worked out.

I was once looking to fill a room in an department I was renting over, and people were surprised that I bothered to let them know that someone else had gotten it. Seems like basic courtesy to me.

The were several articles in the last week about youth mental health that answered that question: not very well.

I have more chairs than closet floor space, this couldn't possibly go wrong.

The eagerness of some people for Ireland to follow the UK in its anti-trans crusade is genuinely worrying.

This was at DYKEish which is monthly, though I think I'll need some new material before I perform there again.

I just did my first public ukulele performance at an open mic, of the first song I've written.

"Sip Bro", as is hopefully obvious, falls under the genre of HRTcore.

No wailing, screaming, or fainting was apparent, nor do I think they noticed the one mistake I made.
