There was so much good that came out of that hellish time. You should be proud of your accomplishments and the hope it brought to others. And that keep-it-going, pass-it-down attitude that started with Harvey is still going strong.

Some of my people were rescued. I’d like to think that you were the one that sent the Cajun Navy to them. Funny how we make a connection with someone, I felt like I “know” you even before our chats. Then I find out you were part of that! Anyway I wanted to say thank you, my friend!

So all the time I’ll be forced to listen to these idiots talk about Biden’s economy causing $9 eggs I can smile to myself knowing I’m sending actually deserving kids to college! Even small acts contribute. Sand in the gears people! That’s me. I’m the sand.

But most important. Part of my volunteer duties is to review applications. And “I don’t want to work during college” does not constitute need. “My mom works 2 jobs and I take care of younger siblings” or “my parents came here for a better life”? That’s a need.

You wanna talk about DEI in college? “My kids told me about the science professor that was let go. No other profs teach it, but the kids have to have that class to graduate. By the way that class was mostly white suburban kids.” Etc etc.

I’m going to plant the seeds of doubt each time I hear something positive about all the things being destroyed. Cuts to VA to save money? “Yeah my uncle told me about the cuts. 30 years in the army and he lost benefits.”

I’ve been struggling with how to combat the crazy and not feel defeated by the other side which I have to deal with daily. Today I’m trying a new tactic. Fundraising season for a nonprofit I volunteer for is starting. We provide scholarships to students that otherwise can’t afford college.

One more reason why the evil man is blowing up our govt. There are so many ways that rockets and even construction and waste have damaged the environment near the TX launch site. By disabling the EPA and manipulating state leaders he can continue his destruction. No rules means no consequences.

Randomly I’ve gotten like 50 spam emails for a family member yesterday and today. She died 4 years ago. She used my email for her social security account. But I’m sure it’s just a coincidence. 🤔

I would add: you can set alerts on most bank and credit card accounts. This can help you identify fraud if your SS deposit account is compromised, but good to set for all your accounts.

Last topic tonight. Today’s order to restore NIH funding only applies to the plaintiffs, mostly blue states because red states don’t want to contradict dear leader. Washington U in St Louis (red state) is a top research hospital and a top funding recipient.

My Midwest farmer family will pay the price because this will be the last loads of grain they sell, and who knows if they’ll receive payment on this load. Dock workers are losing because there’s no loading or unloading of the product.
