It's anecdotal but it seems like basically having a state funeral for a podcaster while firing a bunch of people who accurately restated what he said during his life has not engendered the positive response a lot of these terminally online reporters and pols thought it would.

As someone with kids around the same age in BPS, I don't remember getting the book assigned to us but they did have it in the classroom along with a lot of other books, none of which were particularly controversial. It's weird to see the intensity of backlash to basically nothing from the right.
