One of the things I lived doing when I was a baby internet user was to "tune" the Amazon "recommendations" and add the things it recommended that were accurate to a Neverending wishlist. Everyone could see this was nuts but I was living in a material world as a material grrrl. This was like, 2000ish

I changed music services to one less algo-juice-pulp-extracor-y (qobuzz) and just caught myself trying to figure out what I should play on the way home so it could understand my preferences more.
