The Israeli regime allowed a total of 5 aid trucks into Gaza on Monday, which Fletcher said is “a drop in the ocean.” Per UNRWA, between 500-600 aid trucks are needed daily to address the humanitarian crisis. It was also reported that 2 of the 5 trucks allowed in on Monday contained shrouds.

Speaking to BBC Radio 4's Today, UN humanitarian chief Tom Fletcher said that thousands of trucks loaded with baby food and nutritional supplies are ready to enter Gaza but remain stopped at the border due to the Israeli regime’s blockade that has been in place since March 2.

The United Nations humanitarian chief warned on Tuesday, May 20 that up to 14,000 babies in Gaza could die "within the next 48 hours" if humanitarian aid does not reach them.
