Capitalism requires consumption. If we all have EVs, solar, batteries and heat pumps, then we only consume a little. If that low energy consumption comes from wind and solar, once it's built it consumes even less.

The rich will suffer if there is no consumption.

I don't think most UK homes would have the space for ducting to distribute the air.

MVHR units with cooling in lofts might work, only distributes cool air upstairs though.

Aircon isn't really an answer to the problem though, it's not guilt free.

Just because you don’t spend time thinking about it, or you don’t understand it, or you actively try to ignore it, doesn’t mean it won’t rip apart your world & destroy everything you love.

It. Is. Only. Going. To. Get. Worse.

Capitalism needs constant consumption.

You can't have people being self sufficient, how will corporations make obscene profits if they aren't selling anything?

Bitcoin will fail under the weight of its own inflexibility (sadly).

Calling a winner in the first 30 seconds of a game is unwise.

09.08.2025 17:26 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

And if this were really true, any bad actor could simply launch millions of fullnodes and completely control Bitcoin.

If that was how Bitcoin actually worked, Satoshi need not have bothered creating it.

Do better research.

09.08.2025 17:23 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Essentially whichever group of fullnodes cry the loudest might sway the miners.

The idea the miners need to respect the wishes of fullnodes is utter nonsense, miners get rewards even if fullnodes reject the blocks.

09.08.2025 17:20 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

There are so many things wrong with that, it's hard to know where to start, but I suppose the most obvious problem is miners don't know what a majority of full node operators want, because as I already explained, there is no way to measure that.

09.08.2025 17:18 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

This can be solved for, but Bitcoin alone does not have the feature set needed.

If Bitcoins radically changes it's design, of course that can be done. The catch 22 being that no-one can change Bitcoin, because it's missing the features it needs to have added.

09.08.2025 12:20 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Therefore a world where Bitcoin has taken over will be dystopian, and a very small set of people will be in control of you and your finances.

09.08.2025 12:14 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

If a majority of block creators agree on a fork, then weaker forks die and full node operators must follow the stronger fork.

Or they can give up the value of their forked coins, which they obviously won't want to do.

A Hobson's choice.

09.08.2025 11:53 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Only the block creators nodes choose the protocol and fork, and due to the economy of scale problem in PoW that always will tend to a very small subset. Significantly, pools separate most miners from that by another degree. The people who choose forks are a very small set.

09.08.2025 11:50 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Running a full node does not give you a say in the protocol or fork that is extended, and does not represent a democratic choice.

This is where your lack of technical understanding is failing you. All a full node does is allow you to validate your own local version of the blockchain as genuine.

Or is your position that Bitcoin is not run for the benefit of its (current and potential) users, and that they shouldn't have a say?

09.08.2025 08:48 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

In fact you hundreds of millions are a tiny minority of the world population, what if the majority of the world want to change Bitcoin, but they aren't represented, how will you know?

09.08.2025 08:47 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 2    πŸ“Œ 0

So if 51% of those hundreds of millions of actors wanted to change Bitcoin, how would you know?

This is not an unasked question, but it is an unanswered question, which is exactly the point.
