You’re right about tools but I’m not sure if ai-based tools would enable people to be more creative (Lazy, if anything!). Bottom line is, you can’t substitute human creativity with ai.

Any existing gen ai system is essentially producing the most probable response to the prompt, given the training set. This makes it, by definition, not creative.

Btw the best part of it was that in the end the guy wanted a new, upgraded Mr Stud. That’s the human condition in the nutshell.

I get that. But perhaps what you achieved with the IIT letter is that it encouraged ppl outside of the consciousness field to be more critical of consciousness theories in general. This might not be very apparent in the discourse but it’s still there.

This indicates that perhaps the brain tries to divide the inharmonic sound into multiple auditory objects.

Unexpectedly (and excitingly!), inharmonic sounds had significantly smaller P2 peaks than harmonic sounds - a response pattern known as object-related negativity, previously observed with auditory stream segregation.

In contrast, MMN responses became undetectable when the jittering pattern changed between consecutive sounds. This suggests that prediction errors are weighted by sequential but not spectral uncertainty.

In this study we used EEG to record MMN and P3a mismatch responses - markers of auditory prediction error. Inharmonic sounds with a constant jittering pattern generated similar MMN and stronger P3a responses than harmonic sounds.
