Re. RPS freelance, I now have a budget for irregular (maybe 6-12 pieces a year) 2000-3000 wordish, more granular and specific reporting and investigative criticism that broaches a new topic or addresses a gap in knowledge regarding something familiar.

FUNERAL RITES is three 1-page microgames meant for two players to act through their own version of the Iliad and Odyssey. You create a soldier and their deeds, figure out how they died, split their possessions in funeral games, and then try to get home. Each game is made to take 20-30 minutes.

I’m certain you’ve gotten this one previously, but the Superhero Cinematic Universe games? They’re all individual, connected, short games, but the games themselves are structured as specific, focused, but open-to-creativity adventures.
Maybe not what you’re after but the best I got.
