Everybody wants to talk about how British politics is realigning, but nobody wants to ask any of the people who have been actively engaged in politics at a high level the entire time, and who themselves embody those shifts, what happened with them personally. It's just odd.

Almost daily, we read articles describing the drastic shifts taking place in UK politics right now. It would be entirely congruent with that narrative for a journalist to present Eagle with these two statements and ask her to describe the transformation she has undergone over the past decade.

Calling Starmer's Labour right-wing might seem silly, but their politics are clearly more performative than ideological, and the performance shows:

1. They're Conservatives with an inferiority complex and,
2. They loathe the left for exhibiting the moral fibre they think distinguishes them in 1.

I'm thinking of that anecdote after 2020 with Trump's lawyer Sidney Powell where he had a bunch of people on a conference call listening to her lay out her legal theories, and he reportedly kept muting the call going, "She's crazy, right?" and laughing about it, then unmuting her.

There's an element of contamination breaking containment as happened in the GOP, where you have the food you feed to the farmers, and then the food you feed to the pigs, and that worked fine, but eventually you got pigs running for office and winning, and now they control and produce their own food.

Here comes a police officer to intervene between anti-fascist and racist protestors. Fortunately, he's had his obligatory 2-hours watching BBC POLICE before coming out on his shift, and so understands the facts of the matter and will adjudicate fairly and in accordance therewith.

One of the biggest errors members of the public make when thinking about people in authority in society – politicians, police officers, medical professionals, teachers, and so on – is believing that they operate in a different, 'higher' media environment from the rest of us.

This is why I can't shake my suspicion that there's something bigger going on with the WSJ turning on him with a series of articles laden with the implicit threat that they have more information that they're ready to publish. Someone's getting fed up of him fucking with everyone's money.

Remember when Boris Johnson was interviewed by Eddie Mair in 2013, who took the tack of confronting Johnson with his various misdeeds and asking, "You're a nasty piece of work, aren't you?"

The scandal was a journalist speaking to a politician this way. Now I'm wondering why he was the only one.

There's always time for a journo to pull Ms. Eagle up on this drastic change in attitude toward right-wing arguments and their legitimation by the leader of the party of which she is a member. It would hammer home to the public the transformation that has happened in the Labour Party. Any time.

In 2016, following the Leave vote, Angela Eagle resigned from Jeremy Corbyn's cabinet in tears, stating in her resignation letter that, "Too many of our supporters were taken in by right-wing arguments and I believe this happened, in part, because [of] your leadership"

To err is human—and when you're a prominent journalist or political commentator in the United Kingdom, the more you err, the more human you are! Which is incredibly fortunate for the country's ascendant far-right movement! Sometimes things just shake out that way!

Either all the people in the rooms signing off on proving arms, bombs, materiel and intelligence for this slaughter are rabid ideologues, or hermetically sealed off from the world, or, like you and me, they stood there asking themselves, “Are we really doing this?” And they said and did nothing.

It's either that all these people who we're constantly reminded are Rhodes Scholars, Ivy League grads, Oxford PPE wiz-kids and masters of diplomacy with centuries of combined experience all turned out to be *murderously* ignorant concerning this one specific issue, or something else was going on.

Angela Eagle of course being one of the people who resigned in tears because working under Jeremy Corbyn had become so intolerable.
