“The ‘grown women’ of Ireland remember very well what erasure and control and lack of bodily autonomy feel like and it’s for this very reason that we stand so passionately with the trans community today”

Cannot believe the Sinéad O’Connor essay collection only has one Irish written piece in it? No offence at all but my level of interest in it has plummeted..

Nothing less endearing than the way Wimbledon crowds treat anyone playing the British players. Cheer your own, fine, but cheering a mishit or double fault is asshole behaviour.

Garda impersonated colleague online to encourage men to come to her home and rape her Shane Flanagan pretended to be the woman on a fetish website and shared her name, address and photos in order for men to come to her home and rape her.

‘Counsel said a protective factor is “the absence of hostility to women”’.

Would hate to see what he’d do if he was feeling hostile so.

The underlying principles here are hardly controversial. We have agreed, as societies, that intellectual property should be protected. It is right that people should benefit from their labour.
So, it is also right that the businesses that develop and publish books, music, films and so forth should benefit from their work. Moreover, it is not only right, but economically beneficial. It creates economic value. If companies wish to benefit from the creativity of others, they should pay them. That is why civilised countries recognise copyright.

It amazes me that all this is debatable.

If you are so taxed by work you need help just to write an email; if you have such a high volume of tasks that you need to shortcut oversight; if you desire to read great books but can't find time to do it – these are problems that are not gonna be solved by AI tools, but perpetuated by them.
