There's always a long lag time with HIV transmission estimates from CDC m, so all we know is that HIV transmissions declined by an estimated 12% between 2018 and 2022 and 20% in EHE target counties. This is a modest overall decline compared with steep recent declines in other wealthy nations.

It is unclear whether the CDC would simply stop surveillance of HIV under Trump.

NEWS: A source has leaked a document to me that details the Trump administration's plans for overhauling HHS and its proposed 2026 budget. This includes eliminating all funding for the Ending the HIV Epidemic (EHE) plan that Trump endorsed in his 2019 State of the Union.
