Some people have a workaround with the app but when I try they want to send my email a verification code but that seems broken too... ๐Ÿ˜ฎโ€๐Ÿ’จ

Like a bunch of others it seems, I've been locked out of my 18 year old Twitter account because of a botched passkey migration. It's almost as if renaming the site was a bad idea... ๐Ÿ™ƒ

Your guest seems off by an order of magnitude on openai revenue and I think those are some vast oversimplifications of how depreciation works and what it means. There are bubble risks for sure but the investments in data centers and research here can create real value in a way that pets.com didn't.

I almost forgot today is my favorite holiday...

A jubilant "oh shit it's going to rain tomorrow and I forgot to clean my gutters because it's the bay area and there isn't weather 9 months out of the year" day to those who celebrate!

I am not sure if it would be any closer for you but there is Xi'an Kitchen in Milpitas and they have them iirc!

I suspect this wonโ€™t hamper any academic use (I hope not, it seems like great work!) but I imagine many companies will shy away from using it in any load bearing capacity.

DINOv3 is out and itโ€™s exactly technically impressive as one would expect from the DINO team. Very bullish on image only SSL! However, of note is the bespoke license: github.com/facebookrese...

Section 8 seems to imply it can be changed for existing users (including revoking commercial rights)

We're really proud to show off the final design for Pebble Time 2*! It's quite a bit sleeker and imo more awesome looking than the original design for Core Time 2 we showed off in March. I hope you like it!

My husband was diagnosed and the corticosteroid injection did wonders if you were considering it (the exercises and brace thing didn't really help). Also if you are looking for a new party game, I find getting random people to try the Finkelstein test is great fun.

I can't speak for non-tech companies as my career has been almost entirely in tech but everywhere I've worked has always had more work than engineers to do it and open roles. I believe (perhaps naรฏvely?) that any increased productivity will just make SWEs even more valuable. Only time will tell!

If only there was a twitter/bluesky equivalent to see more unfiltered discourse at other moments in time to compare. I wonder if other big steps would have produced similar discussion (I'm thinking maybe Fortran and compiled languages in general?) or if there is something about LLMs in particular.

This really resonated with me. Often when I'm talking to someone I feel like they must be using entirely different tools than I am because I simultaneously get tremendous value from using AI daily and yet... I am really not the bit least concerned about the death of software engineering

Someone asked on HN for a comparison between @atproto.com and @matrix.org and I had a stab at it: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=35886140. Corrections/clarifications welcome; it feels like this should be a blogpost or something rather than lost in the depths of HN...

ImageBind: Holistic AI learning across six modalities ImageBind is the first AI model capable of binding information from six modalities.

Really impressive work on multimodal models coming out of FAIR today: https://ai.facebook.com/blog/imagebind-six-modalities-binding-ai/
