Every reputable expert I know considers mRNA vaccine technology to be one of the most revolutionary advances in medicine in our lifetimes. Its inventors won the Nobel Prize in 2023. Shutting it down now is pointless self-harm to humanity.

Just watched a Taco Bell ad using music very similar to a slowed-down “When The World Is Running Down, You Make The Best Of What’s Still Around” and that’s just off-the-charts self-awareness right there.

Four CDs arranged in a 2x2 square. Clockwise from top-left: The “Desire: The Carl Craig Story” soundtrack, “Monument” by Shriekback, the “Trip Maps 3” mix CD by Future Sound Of London, and the Japanese CD of “Moisturizer” by Wet Leg.

New stuff for #CDFriday. Also, it’s #BandcampFriday and that’s where I picked up the @carlcraignet.bsky.social and Future Sound Of London CDs!

Respect. (And “Guns” isn’t half-bad either.) 😉

Well, you can still find End Of The Century Party and Tackhead Tape Time on streaming, so On-U haven’t completely forgotten about him. And this album was on Perfecto/RCA so maybe there’s some tension there? Anyways, it’s a great listen - “False Leader” and “Human Nature” reel me in every time.

Honestly, his RHCP mixes are fine, but nothing to get excited about. Was always partial to his takes on The The’s “Dogs Of Lust,” the Cult’s “She Sells Sanctuary” and of course NIN’s “Wish.”

The first CD I bought was “This Is Big Audio Dynamite” in 1986. Still have it. Soon after, I bought a few that were issued in 1985: New Order’s “Low-life” (with the vellum and picture cards), ABC’s “How To Be A Zillionaire!” and Cabaret Voltaire’s “The Covenant, The Sword And The Arm Of The Lord.”

With Tom Lehrer's passing, I suppose this is a moment to share the story of the prank he played on the National Security Agency, and how it went undiscovered for nearly 60 years.

1. All of those CDs were released in 1991.
2. None of them are available on major streaming services or digital download stores today.

OK, #CDFriday, these four CDs all have two things in common - one is fairly obvious, and one is not so obvious. Can you figure them both out?

The Trump campaign did not offer a response to either story, but in a 2005 appearance on Howard Stern’s show, Trump bragged about doing exactly what the women describe. “I’ll go backstage before a show, and everyone’s getting dressed and ready and everything else,” he said.
His position as the pageant’s owner entitled him to that kind of access, Trump explained, seemingly aware that what he was doing made the women uncomfortable. “You know, no men are anywhere. And I’m allowed to go in because I’m the owner of the pageant. And therefore I’m inspecting it… Is everyone OK? You know, they’re standing there with no clothes. And you see these incredible-looking women. And so I sort of get away with things like that,” he said.
(Billado told BuzzFeed she mentioned the incident to Trump’s daughter, Ivanka, who shrugged it off, saying, “Yeah, he does that.”)

Everyone is so focused on Trump being a pedophile through Epstein they refuse to dig around the rest of his abuse allegations and if you do EVEN A TINY BIT you find him LITERALLY JUST SAYING HE LOOKS AT UNDERAGE NAKED BODIES. I found this in TEN MINUTES OF RESEARCH

Moreover, ICE must be destroyed

Ozzy Osbourne dies just weeks after farewell show The heavy metal star reunited with his Black Sabbath bandmates on stage at Villa Park earlier in July.

Ozzy Osbourne RIP?! This news is just unbelievable - Ozzy seemed immortal. But how incredibly moving he and Black Sabbath (and everybody they influenced) had a chance to have one heck of an incredible sendoff a few weeks ago. news.sky.com/story/ozzy-o...

Definitely not. Have been shopping at Newbury Comics for decades and have never seen hype like that printed on a sticker attached to any item. Fonts are likely wrong, too.

This week in 1991, "Unbelievable" hit #1 on the US Billboard Hit 100 Singles chart.

It's still frequently played on radio and used in adverts around the world.

Tell us what "Unbelievable" means to you! Do you remember the first time you heard it?

Great choices! Mine from this album is “Lush 3-1,” and overall “Belfast” (though I also have a soft spot for “The Box”).

Remember: There is nothing natural or inevitable about extreme inequality; it’s the result of an economic system that values wealth and power over human dignity and justice.

It doesn't have to be this way.

Democrats should loudly let it be known right now that anyone who is carrying out corrupt orders—or illegal ones— on Trump's behalf will not be able to hide behind bureaucratic obscurity later. They will be held accountable—politically, or if needed, legally as well.

Gonna climb into this 4CD box set of Orbital’s classic second album today. Sometimes, when things feel uncertain, falling back on the familiar can alleviate some of that anxiety. #CDFriday
