We rewatched The Town a couple of weeks ago, and wow is Affleck's fake accent so, so bad in that. There are a few scenes where he's clearly not trying to fake it and a more natural sounding accent comes through here and there. But otherwise, woof.

Also, I have told this story before, but one of the reasons I replied to my now-husband’s email was because his dating by profile included a line that said, “you are absolutely nothing like Ann Coulter.” Never compromise, kids.

My kid has started asking questions, since he’s realized other people have more family than we dk. He got upset when he figured out my dad died after he was born and he never met him. I explained it as, “some people just aren’t worth knowing, even if you’re related to them.”

I cannot describe the weird sense of relief I felt when I got to say, “oh, he passed away a few years ago”the first time someone I met asked about my dad. No more wondering if someone is going to be cool or an asshole.

My friend and I went to see 12 Monkeys at the cheap theater in its last few days, so it wasn’t very crowded. As the credits rolled, this girl stood up and yelled “what. THE FUCK. was that?!?!” And I couldn’t help her, because I also had no freaking idea.
