I made my first needle felted dog! 😁☀️ It was very relaxing. Can't wait to make another! My girls went to the groomer yesterday, and she gave me 2 bags of their hair, which I incorporated into the feltie dog. 🥰 It's standing on my as of yet unfinished wet felt landscape.

I spent all day at a wet felting workshop and it was so fun!! Plus quite a physical workout. lol
I can't wait to do it again! 😁
I'll post a pic after I embellish it a bit more.
It lends itself well to my painting style because it's so expressive, and the colours are 🤩!

People who create anything will probably understand the constant need to make the ideas in our heads a reality, & the comfort and high of being "in the zone",where time doesn't matter. Nothing matters.You just get lost in making something from nothing and it's quite a rush, which makes it addictive!

I'm so drawn to textile art! I think my paintings will be good inspiration! I constantly want to learn new art techniques. It's like an obsession. Rug hooking landscapes was another thing I started getting into, but haven't done in a while. Pushing 60, it feels like ⌛️💀😖

I kind of wish it existed still! Even though I love what it eventually became, I’m liking this on its own! Might need to try and recreate it. I’m so glad I take progression shots of most pieces.

Building complex layered backgrounds is relaxing and fun! I love the moodiness of this! It ended up being a super colourful piece, but revisiting this WIP photo is making me feel like trying something more moody and mysterious, with a more subdued palette than my usual, for a challenge. 🙃☀️

I’m feeling so creative right now! I have two paintings on the go, another older one I want to finish, and a few others in my brain waiting to be born. I have a few new techniques I want to try, plus want to revisit ones I haven’t done in ages. It’s good, but also, I can’t get to sleep! 🤪

I had such a nice time at the local arts council open house tonight! I met some lively and lovely people, had great conversations and signed up for a wet felting landscape class that I think will suit my painting style perfectly! I’m looking forward to trying it out. Textile art fascinates me! 😊☀️

...stay in. Her g-ma actually told her to stop looking at it and to look at the painting next to it of a traditional still life.🤨 For one thing, let her look at whatever she wants! Two, why not encourage her to be expressive? The still life was nice, and that's fine, but there is no "right way". 🙄

I watched for a little while and a little girl of about 5 was in awe of it, and I love that my art appeals to kids because it shows they don't have to stick to "traditional" ways of painting as they are often taught, and then often give up because of that rigid box they think they are expected to...

Colourful 16x20 acrylic and mixed media painting depicts a halved Earth-like planet with pointy green mountains coming out of the halves. The sky is swirls on blue with a large swirly sun, and fluffy clouds come up from the horizon. Large multi coloured patterned trees grow from rolling green hills. A lake with boulders in it is in the middle. There are two cottages with blue roofs set amongst the hills.

Recently finished "The World Inside". Acrylic, modeling paste, dyed paper towel on canvas. I put it in a small local art show this weekend, and it was so wildly different to all the traditional work there! 😛 I don't know how it was received, but I love it. 😊☀️
