I agree, but, I mean that's, what the bathroom ban *is*: a breach of trans people's dignity and safety. As long as it's a specific criticism and not a generic platitude, I don't see anything wrong with using the words that describe the bad thing.

I have to believe that those values are still broadly held, and this country can and will be that again.

Yes, indeed. It's a common pattern in local by-elections.

High quality surveys such as BES show that most (not all!) of the voter movement is intra block, ie Con -> Ref and Lab -> Lib/Plc/Grn. The percentage swings we see here will be down to differential turnout i.e. loyal Labour voters staying at home and habitual non voters coming out for Reform.

Starmer has pulled out all the stops to flatter and impress Trump, but still hasn’t managed to get him to drop his damaging tariffs, take on Putin or tell Netanyahu to stop waging genocide.

It’s time for the UK to stand tough with allies who share our values.

I know it's fun to dunk on Starmer, but if you think a Reform majority government wouldn't make Starmer look like a staunch trans ally, you have lost perspective

To be fair, algorithms make it so nearly ANY instance of an awkward take can be picked up by "the enemy," so there's often little point hiding what you think - someone else has already got rinsed for it! I get it's somewhat different with a bigger account like yours, though.

Yeah when the story was incremental pro-LGBT reform, the "shut up and vote correctly" approach was a lot more viable. Now that rights are being explicitly rolled back it's a much harder sell to say the least.

It is as bad as we have ever seen it.

The scenes of famine in Gaza are simply barbaric.

As MPs of Israeli and Palestinian descent, we hope though that recognition of the State of Palestine will serve to flame the embers of hope for peace.
