There’s a smaller but out of control fire near Harvey now too.

While flipping half a dozen or so houses and numerous other renovation projects over the past 15 years, I never used a tool belt. I bought a fancy one years ago and never used it. Until today. What was I waiting for??? So convenient! All the tools just there within reach all the time! Game changer.

When I’m doing construction projects all by myself, the number of in-depth conversations I have, out loud, may be indicative of a problem.

Haha. I can relate to this. I often budget using the Kent or HD pricing and then assume it will be similar at HH, which it usually is.

I love supporting Home Hardware because not only is it Canadian, it’s locally owned and operated unlike the corporately owned JDI Kent stores.

Today was a day I won’t soon forget. I had the distinct honour and privilege of escorting Prince Edward, the Duke of Edinburgh, at an event where cadets from across Prince Edward Island got the opportunity to interact directly with His Royal Highness. It will be a highlight of my summer for sure.

The driveway is coming along. On Saturday afternoon, @mikeseamans.bsky.social helped pile rocks around the new culvert to prevent erosion, and we started to clear an area for a utility building.

I’m super excited to get started on construction of a cottage, cabins and tent platforms along with a shower house and laundry building, all connected by a boardwalk lit by overhead chandeliers in the woods. I have neither the time nor the money to do it all, but I’m going to make it happen!
