It's astounding. When I saw your painting in my feed, at first I thought maybe you had been there, or seen photos online that inspired you. But I read about your work and learned that your Lumen paintings are from 1997, long before the reactor site I photographed had been accessible.

What's better, posting a link to Flickr or posting the photo directly? I could go either way.

Scale Distance plays tricks on the eyes in a space that curves in all directions. Human figures again provide an idea of the scope.

Thanks for re-sharing! As a new follower I didn't know about this. I am truly spooked. It's haunting and and moving in the best way. I've used a sketchbook to process trauma in the past, and it's mind-blowing how those feelings and emotions can come through in the art.

Mine was taken kind of far from the beaten path, in an abandoned nuclear power plant site near Nashville. You can see more of the location in the Flickr album. Lots of very interesting rust and monolithic concrete.

Also you should know that those foreboding bells are actually just someone clinking dishes in the kitchen, accidentally caught in my slow-mo video. But someone should lay down a pipe organ accompanyment.

A lot of platforms are slowly or even totally removing your ability to curate your own feed, so if their algorithm decides that slop might increase your engagement, it will start shoveling it in there without asking, even if you don't want it. That's one big reason I've forsaken Meta and Twitter.

Here's the final since the timelapse only keeps it up for 1/24 of a second. Note to self- let it record for like 10 minutes at the end.
