ABSOLUTELY ADORABLE!!💙

We separated them in different rooms and invested in a heavy-duty puzzle feeder to slow Lydia down. It clearly frustrated her. She tried to pick it up and toss it almost immediately, but it was too heavy and cumbersome, huzzah!

So, at least one successful meal down, hopfully we get more tomorrow!

They are inseparable most of the time, but Lydia (the big shepherd mix) is highly food motivated, leading to stress at feeding time. She wolfs down her food then tries to bully Inigo.

She'll stalk around him at a distance, occasionally pressing her luck to the point we have to intervene. 🧵

After not eating anything but small treats for over 24 hours, we FINALLY got Inigo to eat a bowl of plain baked chicken and white rice. We're closely monitoring, but we're fairly certain it's psychological and not physical at this point. We think he's nervous because of his sister, Lydia. 🧵

While examining Inigo, the vet said, surprised "This dog is ripped!" He then cleared his throat, and amended, more professional "Sorry- I mean he has incredible muscle definition. Does he run a lot?"

We then explained we have two gremlins, and their wrestle-mania and high-speed tag are daily events

Vet visit for Inigo was a bit inconclusive. He lost 1lb since his visit 10 days ago. His teeth and mouth were fine, but he was running a fever of 104.8! Started him on antibiotics as a precaution and ran some blood work we're still waiting on.

Thankfully, he's eaten 4 meals in a row now!

Thank you very much for the suggestions! We think it's medical, but beyond meals he acts normal which is what's throwing us. We tried toppings, but he just licked them off. Thankfully, soaking his dinner for an extended period in warm water did the trick tonight! Hopfully the vet can tell us more!

Vet appointment set for tomorrow afternoon. Hopfully, we get some answers as to what is going on with Little Man!

Not sure yet. He just had his check up and they said he's in perfect health, but for over a week now he keeps refusing food. He still roughhouses with his sister and acts normal, but around feeding time he gets visibly distressed. We'll know more once we take him to the vet, hopfully

We just had his check-up, but we're going to bring him back to the vet soon. The way he acts, we think it might be either a toothache or anxiety-related. He takes soft treats fine and otherwise acts normal. I just wish he could verbalize what's bothering him so much.

We've tried everything- fed in a seperate room, left food in his crate, gated him off, changed food, wetted his food, hand-fed, scatter-fed -you name it, but Ingo still won't eat.

At first we could get him to eat a bit if we were all in the room sitting in specific spots, but it stopped working. 🧵

It's beautiful outside- 54 degrees and sunny! I took myself for a walk, and it was hard to come back inside

Watched the Superbowl last night with my conservative family. I was glad they actually watched Bad Bunny instead of alternatives. Unfortunately, they were too offended at the short-shorts, the artist grabbing his crotch, and the lack of subtitles, so they missed the overall message... baby steps...

I felt energized on my day off, so I chipped away all the compacted ice and shoveled the entire driveway yesterday. My body has since cashed all those checks I wrote, and I feel like I've been in a tumble dryer full of hammers.
