This weekend in edition #2 of our newsletter, we announced an upcoming partnership with the New Orleans Film Festival. We were thrilled to amplify trans voices, creativity, and perseverance. Since then, we've become aware that NOFF has recently given an award to Amy Schumer, someone who has a long history of Zionistic and Islamophobic speech. We will not be partnering with @neworleansfilmsociety unless they revoke the award. We have communicated our position to the festival, and signed this letter to the board and staff. We urge you to add your name and tell the festival: zionists are not welcome, and absolutely not honored, in our city. We have also contacted some of the local trans artists scheduled in the festival, and would love to connect with more. We remain committed to amplifying the voices of our local trans community, and will be doing so separate from the festival and regardless of their future response.
