Yesterday an animal was picked up and left at the County Admin Building. Athabasca County does not currently have access to any boarding facilities to house animals found at-large. Fortunately, the owner contacted the County looking for their missing animal resulting in the animal being reunited.3/4

With the weather getting colder, its natural and proper to be concerned about the welfare of animals you may come across. While you may be tempted to intervene if you find an animal at-large, by picking up the animal you may be inadvertently taking the animal further away from its home. (1/4)

On Wednesday, November 20 at 1:55 pm, a test will be done of the Alberta Emergency Alert system. Itβs just a test but a great reminder to be prepared for any real emergencies.
Test messages will also be issued over TV, radio, cell phones and tablets.
