What is the purpose of an Ethics Committee if it will always be partisan? If reports will not be released? Why shouldn’t there be an outside committee investigating Congress, as opposed them investigating themselves?

Honestly, that’s one of my many flaws. I steer so far away that side of the news that I have no idea what their vision is. None of my family or friends are R’s, I don’t watch Fox News etc., so all of this is kind of shocking to me. The conspiracies, the dismantling of the govmnt, I don’t get it.

Like you, I am a small business owner. I am nervous for a multitude of reasons. I can’t believe we are here…again.

I don’t see it happening. Even my friends who once thought of purchasing a second home in Florida to one day retire in, changed their minds after 2016. We will stay here and duke it out.

That’s a great question. They may have to do something that isn’t quite in their field, but at least they will have great work experience/resume and of course college degrees. But we still have to consider pensions/401k, health insurance etc etc. I hate this for them.

I don’t know, I can’t see my friends moving to a deep red state if their job relocates. It’s more than just the job, it’s their children’s education, quality of life etc. I think they will just have unqualified people working these positions.

Yikes. That’s a really good take. A scary take, but a smart one. I hadn’t considered that but it makes total sense.

I live in DC. A lot of my friends and family work for the federal government or are government contractors. Everyone is terrified. And DC is VERY blue. It’s maddening.
