Golly thanks for reminding me that I’ve been meaning to visit my old stomping grounds in the East Bay

(I don’t have much love for SF though, getting around is a NIGHTMARE)

For those curious:

-Reduced major motor coordination
-Dizziness
-Double vision
-Headache
-Slight loss of control on one side

But I still had pretty ok diction, fine motor skill, lucidity, and no numbness.

Goofing around prototyping a video game version of “craig maes”, a fictional Welsh sport from the Doc Now! episode “How They Threw Rocks”.

(I think the way it’s played is pretty self-explanatory)

I might mention that this isn’t me abandoning the “‘Star Fox’ clone” idea.

This was inspired by a desire to prototype the flight system in a cozier game first.

My main GBG project is prototyping an action-adventure game demo to see if it’d be worth it to learn a proper engine to make the real deal.

First order of business is building the complicated-by-design control scheme (deets in alt)

Tip if you wanna get into it: build microgames to familiarize yourself with the full suite of nodes to work with (the tutorial only covers about 2/3 of them), advanced node features, and back-end organization.

If you have a Switch and want to learn console game dev I 💯% recommend Game Maker Garage

It gives a thorough tutorial on the basics of visual programming (no coding required) and is great for rapid prototyping

I’d argue there are benefits even to its limitations (ITO ecosystem, art prod, etc)

It’s ironic that that specific line is what lead people to assume Jax was an abuse victim

Writing up a design doc for a Starfox clone and the first art of 2026 is concept art for the CAMERA (i.e. someone who by definition would have almost no screen time)
