Been trying out different things on various kits lately because I knew I’d want to ensure I did the damage some justice on this Zaku. Pleased so far. Using DSPIAE markers and Tamiya weathering master.

The cannon is my favorite part of the kit. It folds up into the backpack as well.

Picked it up at a Mandarake store in Tokyo, dirt cheap.

With the Bandai type, I haven’t found a reliable way to remove the excess water and get a good seal without lifting the decals. The larger ones are aren’t as bad but small ones are very frustrating.

Bandai’s are very difficult to work with, good luck friend! 😬😬😬

Tank looks great!

The Dspiae markers are excellent too. They do rub off quite easily but if you hit em with a top coat they hold up.

I just picked one up too during a trip to Philly and a random Gunpla expedition

Not this one, all stickers… I’m painting some of the sticker details too b/c the stickers aren’t great.

This is a super easy kit to build BUT I like my water slides so I picked up a pack. Unfortunately Bandai is the only waterslide kit I could find. So while they add some great detail, they are difficult AF to apply and there are 8 billionty of them. Cool kit though.

Bandai HG 1/100 YF-19 plastic model kit from Macross Plus. Detailed and completed with a mixture of traditional stickers, water slide decals, acrylic paint for color correction, and matte topcoat.

Here’s my completed HG YF-19 in its Fighter mode configuration. This took me nearly 1.5 weeks to finish, and the end result is… kinda small!

This form fills me with nostalgia though, not just for the anime it’s based on, but my time building real-life jet models as a kid. ❤️

The second triplet of Not Fade/Going Down the Road/Not fade is 👌. Some of my favorite Dead is the transition back to Not Fade and this version does not disappoint.

Sometimes I pre-order stuff and it seems like it’ll take FOREVER or NEVER to ship. Then I get a notification that an item is shipping and the wait is worth it. Looking forward to getting after this kit.

Building this kit now, Bandai water decals work better with warm water. I also ditched some of the red stickers and used a Gundam marker instead because the stickers are trash.
