Recovering former Murdoch tabloid hack working off the bad karma by campaigning for an oligarch-free media. I'm pouring energy into mass movement mobilisation to tackle the climate crisis - before it tackles all of us

For some inexplicable reason, this brilliant 1938 anti-Appeasement cartoon by the great David Low came to mind when I looked at the list of the Mega-Powerful / Hyper-Rich at yesterday’s Windsor Castle nosh up for our superhuman masters.

Privatisation of UK industries is driving cost of living crisis, says Greens leader Zack Polanski calls mass privatisation a β€˜failed experiment’ as report finds it has cost UK households Β£250 a year more

The Conservatives started this experiment.

But Labour are fully on board too.

No 10 refuse to comment or take action - but we're all paying the price for corporate greed.

@zarahsultana.bsky.social @jeremycorbyn.bsky.social It's time to get your act together. Whatever the f**k is happening at Your Party, 800k supporters are depending on you to stop the ego-waggling and give them hope. @zackpolanski.bsky.social is looking like the way forward for lefties like me.

I’m not sure how good the analysis is when The Times puts all responsibility at Starmer’s door but stays silent on the complicity of right wing media (itself included) in promoting Farage and destabilising our democracy, by refusing to hold the ever more extreme and dangerous right wing to account.

It's both ambitious and not ambitious enough - but in the era of Trump rollbacks and fossil fuelled populism, it's something to see a centre-left government *that won largely on climate issues* actually trying to deliver. Or at least not ceding every inch of political territory to Scorched Earthers.

Donald Trump is carrying out Genocide in Gaza so he can build a Trump Hotel.

While also plunging the USA into a fascist dictatorship.

This is like inviting Adolf Hitler.

RT if he is not welcome in the UK.

I'll hear 'punchy' when Starmer stops inserting far right dog-whistle words like 'patriotic' into his announcements, defends immigration as a huge benefit to the UK and a part of our culture for centuries, and stops generally being a genocide enabling, authoritarian fraud

The UN has only confirmed what we already knew: Israel is committing genocide.

64,000+ killed, whole families wiped out. Yet UK Govt rolls out the red carpet for Israel’s president & Starmer stays silent.

Labour - this is a genocide. Are you going to continue to ignore that?

The invitation to Trump is a sign of Starmer’s weakness…weakness the nation can ill afford - just as his billionaire friends threaten British citizens with violence…

An image that has the following text on it: Historians have a word for Germans who joined the Nazi party, not because they hated Jews, but out of a hope for restored patriotism, or a sense of economic anxiety, or a hope to preserve their religious values, or dislike of their opponents, or raw political opportunism, or convenience, or ignorance, or greed.

That word is "Nazi." Nobody cares about their motives anymore.

They joined what they joined. They lent their support and their moral approval. And, in so doing, they bound themselves to everything that came after. Who cares any more what particular knot they used in the binding?

The Mail making it quite clear this week that it hasn't shifted an inch from the days when - alongside many members of the Tory establishment & thousands of 'ordinary people' with 'legitimate concerns' - it came out in full support of Oswald Moseley & his fascist Blackshirts. A UN commission of inquiry has confirmed what was already clear: Israel is committing genocide in Gaza.

For nearly two years we’ve witnessed the deliberate slaughter of civilians, starvation of an entire population, and the systematic destruction of hospitals and essential infrastructure. This has been accompanied by open calls to annihilate Palestinians from Israel’s political and military leaders.

This is the most documented genocide in history.

Yet just two weeks ago, the UK government claimed it had not concluded Israel was acting with genocidal intent. It continues to arm Israel's genocide, provide RAF reconnaissance support and roll out the red carpet for Israeli war criminals.

The government’s position was already morally indefensible. It is now politically untenable.

Keir Starmer and his Labour ministers must be held criminally accountable.

Israel has committed genocide in Gaza, UN commission of inquiry says The panel finds that four of the five genocidal acts defined under international law have been carried out against Palestinians during the war.

This genocide belongs to Britain, too.

The government’s legacy will be its complicity in one of the greatest crimes of our time.

We will never give up until there is justice, peace and freedom for the Palestinian people. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

@zackpolanski.bsky.social gets it. We want a vision of a world that is not out-of-control capitalism. There IS an alternative but the billionaires and their pet politicians and media don't want us to know that.

Oh, he's got convictions. It's that the Labour Party should be the Red Wing of the Billionaire Business Party and take turns ruling the country with the Blue Wing. That's why he and his ghouls conspired to destroy the leadership of the actual socialists who were leading Labour.

You're right. The Overton window has been dragged so far right by billionaires and their media minions the 'centre' is now where the more rabidly capitalist end of the Right was 40 years ago. And this is where these @theguardian.com hacks sit. Zhoran is a mild democratic socialist from 1979.

As Starmer’s popularity tanks, what can Labour learn from Zohran Mamdani’s success in New York? Progressives in the US and UK are asking why leftwing politicians are not connecting with ordinary people

Centrist hacks @theguardian.com show why Labour is dead party walking. Mystified that centre-right genocide enabler migrant bully Starmer 'not connecting' with left voters but socialist Mamdani is.
